And away we go… Day 1: cycled 28km 🚴🏼‍♂️✅

Slightly different strategy this year. Cycle hard on days under 28c, I will thank my future self for this approach come the end of the month. Cumulative an average of 15km a day to get ahead and bank a rest day. Day 1️⃣ allowed me to clock in 28km. Plenty of wind about, so the legs and bum are already feeling it but I’m nowhere near the shape I need to be for this GCC. For now, Rest up and go early tomorrow morning .

T-9 DAYS:Preparing for My Great Cycle Challenge

With just nine days until my Great Cycle Challenge kicks off, I’m busy getting ready for the journey ahead! This October, I’ll be cycling 300 kilometers to raise funds for children battling cancer.

Today was all about bike maintenance. I gave my bike a thorough wash, replaced the tubes, and lubricated all the moving parts and gears to ensure it’s in top shape before taking the bike out for a short ride. (Lite spin of 6.6km) It’s amazing how a little care can make such a difference!

As I prepare, I’m reminded of the resilience of young cancer patients. Every kilometer I pedal will be a tribute to their strength and a step toward funding research and support for those in need.

Christmas came early, with today marking the arrival of my Great Cycle Challenge rider pack for 2024. All the cycling goodies that will teleport our fundraising campaign to the next level!
