Back on the Road Again.

The encouragement and generosity of my supporters over the years has been the major factor in driving me towards my Great Cycle Challenge targets each year and together, over 5 years, you, my supporters have contributed an awesome $16,115.83 towards The Fight against Kids’ Cancer.

Since becoming involved in 2018, my bike and I have covered 4,740 kilometres in Great Cycle Challenges. After the knee replacement last year, I only managed 500km. However, 12 months down the track, with my bionic knee and the support and guidance of David at Carina Cycles and the amazing sports medicine specialists at Veteran's Health Association, I'm aiming for another 1,000 kilometres, to support the fantastic work that the Children’s Medical Research Institute undertakes, in its quest to end childhood cancer and save little lives.

The kilometres that I have clocked up over the past five years' events have sometimes been challenging (particularly the virtual 400km on an exercise bike last year), but nothing compared to what these brave kids face every day of their lives as they battle this terrible disease. Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in Australia. Every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer.

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.
