This year's Challenge has been a bit different for me. Instead of battling the heat/humidity of Brisbane, I moved my cycling to the flat and magnificent cycle trails around Hobson's Bay, in Melbourne. Thank you Wojtek for the use of your freshly and highly tuned Specialized Hybrid on which I've now covered 470 kms. Thanks also to Will, for the loan of his bran new Specialized Mountain Bike that enabled me to keep clocking up the kilometres during our weekend with family, in Kerang, Northern Victoria.
It was in for a rude shock when I returned to Brisbane to contend with the heat and the hills around Brisbane. But it is good to be back, cycling and sharing banter over coffee, with my regular cycling buddies.
One point that did surprise me was, that despite the cold weather, the brown and Tiger snakes of Victoria are already up and about. And I'm still yet to see one in Queensland since last Autumn.
Thank you all for the amazing support you given to me and the Children's Medical Research Institute and for your encouragement to keep my head down and tail up whle tracking along the journey.
