My Story
It's unreal the amount of support I've had. I certainly didn't believe the $20k target would be reached this early but your awesome effort has achieved this milestone.

I have crunched the numbers and realise that with the awesome support from you that the $20000 target is within reach this campaign. If we realise this it will be a huge achievement over the 6 years of our participation in this event.
Together we can do this. Lets do it.

This is my sixth year of participation in this challenge.
Together we have raised over $16429 for the Children's Medical Research Institute.
This year I have pledged to ride 800kms and raise $2500.
Cancer is a scourge on our society and especially more so when children are inflicted with the disease.
Every dollar raised will enable continued important research into childhood cancers.
Your continued support is very much appreciated.

My Challenge

GCC26 Ride 23
31 Oct 2026Final ride of the challenge. Weather was threatening this morning but decided to risk it. Much to our chagrin the rain didn’t stay away and we returned pretty wet through. The second segment was debated whether the ride should continue. As sometimes happens the weather appeared to be easing so some of the group decided to continue. The first few kilometres were fine but it didn’t last and by the end we were thoroughly soaked and dirty as the trail cut up from the bicycle tyres.

27 Oct 2026Today’s ride was nearly a reversal of yesterday’s ride except for some coarse gravel back roads which made it interesting.
The climb back up to Beechworth from about the 26km mark wasn’t without effort but at least being a rail trail the gradient was no more than 4%.
