Final Wrap Up

Well fellow Northern Beaches Old Spokes, October is done and dusted and we have had another great month. We have raised $29,937 and ridden just over 11,500 km. This means we were 4th best in the country for fund raising and 3rd best for distance. This is an amazing effort and you all should be congratulated for the effort you have put in.

Some highlights for the month include the massive effort by Michael Dunn, for not only raising over $10,000 but also for the 844km he rode. Top work Dunny now you can put the bike away till next year 😊

It will not be a surprise but “Back Pack” Paul Lamperd once again rode the greatest distance with a neat 2,000 km. This put him in the top 20 riders in Australia. Well done Paul!

I would also like to give a big shout out to Johnny Schonny for coming back again for the 10th year and raising over $4,000. I know this year it was a little more personal and you have done an awesome job……again!

Some honorable mentions to Fiona, Sylvia and Troy who are all first timers and have hit the ground running and made valuable contributions to the team.

Lastly, I would like to point out that our team, over the last 7 years, has raised over $245,000 to help fight kids’ cancer which is an incredible achievement.

So Old Spokes pat yourself on the back you have done a great job and you should be very proud of your efforts.

What a night!

Well the sponsor dropped some $$ into your piggy bank over night to match your donations and the team total is now $21,777.09 that's amazing well done to you all!

Kick Cancer's Butt Day

Today is Kick Cancer's Butt Day so any donation you receive TODAY will be matched i.e. a $5 donation today will be worth $10! So it is a great way to really bank some $$$$ and help kids with cancer. So post the links to your GCC page on the socials, send some emails and explain to your friends about Kick Cancer's Butt Day and encourage them to donate TODAY! There are plenty of resources you can use that are on the GCC website.

It is only early but we are already kicking goals, keep up the good work!

This October, Northern Beaches Old Spokes is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so we are riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
