Max Robson
In 2006, this handsome daredevil was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 4 years of age. Now Max is 22, taller than me, an extraordinary mountain bike rider, a budding racing car driver and a cancer survivor. Let's ride to cure as many kids as we possibly can.
My Story
This October, I'm planning to ride 500km to raise money to help kid's cancer cure research.
I've also discovered that this is my tenth year supporting the Great Cycle Challenge! Time flies!
It seems so long ago - yet not so long ago at all - that our son Max was going through treatment for leukaemia.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our medical fraternity, he's now mapping out his future as an adult. He's got a great job, awesome friends and too many cars... he's even gotten engaged!
I want to give something back. I want to see a time when kid's cancers are no more problematic than a bad case of flu. That will only happen with more research, and that only happens when there is funding.
This year feels like it'll be tough. The economy is tightening up, and there's always a better place to spend money. I'm not asking for a lot, but if a lot of you give a little, then we'll raise... a lot?

Happy to report I’m back on the bike(s) after a long layover. I hurt my knee pretty badly a few years ago… and honestly, I’ve been a bit scared to test it out, just in case that was it for me. Of course, I’ve been an idiot, and it’s been okay thus far. I’m even slower than I used to be, but who cares.
