This October, for the third year, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Year One: raised $852 on my $500 goal and rode 205/200kms (in Oct.)

Year Two: raised $2055 on my $1000 goal and rode 350/400kms (in Oct.)

I'm riding for the children and families who are going through this because, when I look at my 4 year old son, I can't imagine what it would be like to be on the other side of it. I'm also riding for AD's older brother, who he lost when he was very young.

I have signed up for the 100km Round the Bay event in early October and will also be participating in a 135km gravel race at the end of October (Gravelista) to help me achieve my goal of 500km. I know these events will be difficult but I appreciate that I have the privilege to choose to do these events when others have no choice in much more serious matters.
