Gae and Tony (sister and brother)

In the last 12 years, cancer has taken both my siblings and several friends. My sister, Gae. My brother, Tony. And friends who should still be here. Twelve years is not a long time. It was long enough for cancer to work its way through my family and keep going. So I ride. Every kilometre is for catching this earlier, because early is where the difference gets made — early is the difference between a treatment plan and a funeral.

2026. My eleventh year riding for kids' cancer research.

Eleven years of riding. Eleven years of begging you for money. If you are reading this, you have probably already given. Thank you.

So far: **5,470 km ridden. $15,923.66 raised.**

Good numbers. Children keep getting sick anyway.

Cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in Australia. Over 1,080 are diagnosed every year. Three die every week.

I lost my brother and my sister to cancer. F.U. Cancer.

**Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.**

I ride. The Children's Medical Research Institute does the hard part — prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and one day a cure.

First Ride Done

Yesterday I did my first ride toward my 400 km target. This year, my legs have taken a beating with a hamstring tear, a calf tear and an aggravated knee. Yesterday I put that aside and got on the bike for an 18km indoor ride to get things moving. A sore knee is nothing compared to the suffering of the kid's fighting cancer.

So far, the support has been amazing, with $412 raised toward my $2,500 target.
