I'm Riding For
Ruby Walker
Ruby you have been such a strong and determined girl and you have inspired me to try harder every day. I love you so so much and there is nothing I wouldn’t do to take this terrible disease away from you for ever. I will be doing my best to cycle as far as I possibly can to raise as much money as possible to help cure cancer for you and other beautiful kids just like you. Lots of love Aunty Leigh xx
My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
I have not ridden a bike in over 20 years. I am out of shape and will definitely be out of my comfort zone. I’m definitely afraid of being hurt and worried that I might fail in achieving my goals with this challenge.
But the feelings I have are so insignificant when you consider how our beautiful Ruby must have been feeling at the start of her journey. If Ruby can show the courage and determination she has to fight this horrible disease then I know I can put up with some pain and discomfort to raise a little money to help kids that are loved so dearly like Ruby.
Cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.
