I'm Riding For
friends and a neighbour plus ALL the little kids who are currently in the fight of their lives.

Our loved ones who have battled and won inspire me to keep pedaling, while those who have sadly lost the fight - Mum (pictured), my Aunty Joyce, my sister-in-law Evelyn, my friend Siegi, and my lovely neighbour Barbara are also in my thoughts. Due to research, cancer treatments are improving all the time. One day we WILL have a cure. This is why I ride.
My Story
I know I said that 2024 might be my last GCC . . . I even got my first tattoo to mark my 10th and final year of participating in the challenge. But then here we are in 2025 and I just registered again!
I couldn't help myself - so have set my goals lower this year, to avoid flooding your feeds with more shameless begging. My loyal supporters probably won't be able to help themselves though - you know who you are! Try and hold out until Kick Cancer's Butt Day though!
Let's hope that we can eventually eradicate childhood cancer - the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we can save little lives. Let's kick cancer's butt!!!

4 Oct 2025Well, here I am - back for another year. #11!!!
I'm back because this year I am riding for my good friend Siegi - who passed away in March - FUCK CANCER!
Today I had a bit of time, and it looked like good riding weather at last. Although on call, I took a risk and headed out. At Somerset I decided to continue on to Doctors Rocks, all the while calculating how long it would take me to get back if the burner phone started shrieking. Luckily it didn't. I rode into the head wind, while looking forward to a quick trip home . . . but it's Park Run day . . . crumbs!!!
Like a salmon swimming upstream, I picked my way past runners and walkers, wheelchairs and prams - including 2 abreast who were determined not to give me any passing room. So I decided that I would be better off riding on the highway and finally taking full advantage of that tail wind.
WEDNESDAY THE 8TH IS KICK CANCER'S BUTT DAY!!! Online donations made on the 8th will be DOUBLED!!!
