My Story

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia. Right now, 90 children are diagnosed every month, and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Day 6 & 7. Charleville

A short ride around Charleville as we booked in to see the Secret American army base tour early. This tour was quite interesting. Then we visited all the iconic Charleville sites like Royal flying doctors base, Cosmos centre, Corones historic hotel for a cold drink.

Day 5. Quilpie.

Last town ride around Quilpie. A really nice little town with good tourism. Community swimming pool is free and a fabulous relief from the heat. This council is very community focused and provides great facilities.

A lap around The Lake and then into Quilpie town. There was a nice river trail with local information about indigenous plants and wildlife to the area. Also found lots of roosters

We found this great station stay with a lake just out of Quilpie. So today’s ride was 2 laps of the lake for 12kms. On the opposite side where we are camping there were lots of pink cockatoos.
