My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Because cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia. Right now, 90 children are diagnosed every month, and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.

goal reached! :-)
31 Oct 2026Greetings everyone,
I did it—I reached my goal of 150 km! I’m so happy to have crossed the finish line! 🚴♀️🎉
The attached screenshots show my final results. The distance counter resets to zero after 99.99 km, so adding the next 50.06 km brings my total to just over 150 km! The calorie counter didn’t reset and shows an estimated 3,901 calories burned. I’ve also posted photos along the way to show my progress.
A big thank you to everyone who donated and cheered me on. This was a cause well worth riding for. I hope advances in research, including AI, will bring better treatments for people with cancer—especially children, who face so much at such a young age.
The organisers raised more than $2.5 million nationwide for research—a wonderful result!
My legs are happy too: they’re stronger now, and ready for a rest! 😊
Thanks again, everyone. Sayonara! Hasta la vista!

Friday 30 October - 140kms completed/ 10kms to achieve my goal
30 Oct 2026Hi everyone! :-)
A quick update: I’ve now completed 140 km and have just 10 km to go to reach my goal. Woohoo! This feels so good!
This week, I read about a Swiss man cycling through the Americas, from Alaska in the north to Patagonia in the south. Absolutely incredible! That’s roughly 16,000 km as the crow flies—and much farther by road. I can’t imagine how anyone manages it!
I’ve been riding about 10 km a day, which takes me around 25 minutes. It makes me wonder how far an experienced cyclist can ride in a day. A discussion for the professionals, perhaps!
Anyway, that’s it from me.
Bonne nuit!

completing week 3 - getting there :-)
24 Oct 2026Hi everyone,
I’ve been updating my kilometres regularly, but I haven’t posted an update for a while!
So far, I’ve ridden 110 kilometres over a total of 4.5 hours. I plan to ride another 10 km tomorrow, Sunday, which will leave me a week to complete the final 30 km. That means I’m on track to reach my 150 km goal!
A quick note about the records: the bike’s display has limited digits, so the timer and distance counter reset to zero when they reach their limits. I’ve been taking photos of the readings to keep track of my progress.
Now that I’m in the third week, the riding is getting easier. At first, my whole body ached, and it took a while to get used to it! But I kept going because I didn’t want to fall behind. I’m glad I persevered—I’m reaping the rewards now, and it feels good to be on track.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated, including colleagues I haven’t met personally. Your generosity means so much to me.
To those who donated anonymously: I can’t thank you personally, but whoever you are, please know that your support fuels me to keep riding!
I understand the organisers are pleased with the funds raised nationwide so far. I hope these donations help advance research into childhood cancer, and that developments in AI can also contribute to gentler, more effective treatments for little ones facing this disease. I truly hope so.
That’s it from me for now. I’ll post again next week when I reach my 150 km target!
P.S. Here’s a photo of Princess Lulu, who keeps me company on every ride. My very own support crew! Ha ha. 🐶💕
See you! 😊
