I am riding this fund raiser in memory of my cousin James Dunsmore III and my brother in-law Robin Beaman.

My Story

I am riding in memory of my cousin John Dunsmore. John was the same age as me and growing up he was another brother. At 17 john was diagnosed wtih lukemia. His leg was amputated to try to stop the spread of lukemia. I spent the next year with him at the childrens hospital in Denver Colorado, while he underwent chemotherapy. While in the hospital I saw plenty of children with serious illnesses.

John lived in Durango which was where I attended college. I have many great memories of spending time with John, as he was learning how to take on the world with one leg. He was fearless and would try anything. I will always admire him for that.

At age 22 the lukemia came out of remisson and took John's life. I think of him often and named my only son after him. Every year I do this ride in his memory and hoping that the money raised by all of you AWESOME sponsors, makes a difference in some child's life.
