My Story

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

My Challenge

    With going on camp and appointment I found it hard to get more rides in. Tonight I pushed myself to get to 50km and thought I had done it. At the star I thought it was 37.5km but it was only 35km. I ended on a high and go 48km I am so proud of myself and the support I have received from everyone. Thank you again. Fight kids Cancer such a great cause.

    Smashing Goals! Today we went down the Dandenong East Link trail!! I had a the goal of taking a big dent out of my goal!! Just like Forrest Gump once I got that flow I just wanted to keep on going!! By the time we got back I had hit 19km! Which means I have passed my target Kms!! With still 2 weeks of October I plan on digging deep and keep adding to my km’s tally! Maybe I can hit 50kms. Watch this space

    We set off and my goal was at least 5km. We stopped at the end of the road to turn back and I had already completed 4.88km. I was starting to find it hard and was wanting to walk. My support coach had a look at my bike and noticed my gears were the hardest they could be. 9 & 3. Susie showed me how to change my gears down as I was riding. I set them to 5 & 2 I felt the change straight away and made it home. I am happy with myself so far. Thank you all for my support

    My First ride was a great challenge. My km app stopped and we didn’t notice till half way home. The hills were a fun experience as well. I am enjoying it so far.
