My Story

Eloise was 2.5 years old when her Nanny noticed an unusual lump on her head. 3 weeks later we had been flown down to the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane and got the results that no parent ever dreams they will hear, she had cancer. Eloise was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare tumour that was growing rapidly on the side of her head.

She endured 18 months of treatment, including 20 cycles of chemotherapy, radiation and a 10 hour surgery to remove the tumour. Despite the harrowing treatments, Eloise’s spirit and determination never wavered. She fought every battle so bravely and she has now been cancer free for 3 years! Eloise is a healthy, active and thriving 7 year old who adores school, reading and cartwheels her way through life. We are truly blessed that she is here with us and have the privilege of watching her grow up.

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia. Right now, 90 children are diagnosed every month, and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
