This October Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club Team (RCMC) is again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Last Year 41 Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club participated, and we raised $29477 for Children's Cancer Research. Our Team’s October Kilometer Total was 45,426, an Average of 1465 km's per day for the 31 days. The banter during the challenge is amazing and so many team members rode WAY beyond their comfort Zone. The Challenge is a great format that doesn't draw donation $$ away from the Charity. So here we go again with the 2025 team to smash our Goals.
Firstly, here is a Review our previous Participations as a team and explain Goal 2025.
2022 TEAM RCMC Raised $21,180 and Cycled 37,430 km's
2023 TEAM RCMC Raised $24,278 and Cycled 33,422 km's
2024 TEAM RCMC Raised $29,477 and Cycled 45,426 km's
.................................... Total $74935,,,,,,,,Total 116,278 km's
Earth's circumference measured around the equator, is just 40,075 km, that is our Ride Target for 31 October Days and would bring up the 150,000 kms and at least $100,000 raised in four participations is well within reach.
We are aware right now, that cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week. We also ride in memory of our great departed Friends Darren Timms and John Smallwood (RIP) and are raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to enable them to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer. Thank you everyone who supports our challenge.
