Funds raised now exceed the number of Kilometer's Cycled by our team, so for fun, the Mission now is to attempt to finish the October 2025 Campaign with a ONE Dollar for each Kilometer Cycled by the Team. The difficulty will be that both Totals are "Moving Targets," Dollars being ahead by almost $6736 with only 6 Days of the Campaign Remaining. Whilst our funds Raised Average, has been $1757 per day and will drop away, our Ride Average is at 1467 Kilometers per day. Weather may also play a part. There is no easing up in our Team with 2 Members shooting for 3100km's in 31 Days. It's NOT TOO LATE TO DONATE.
This October Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club Team (RCMC) is again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Last Year, 41 Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club Team participated, and we raised $29477 for Children's Cancer Research.
Our Team’s October Kilometer Total was 45,426, an Average of 1465 km's per day for the 31 days. The banter during the challenge is amazing and so many team members rode WAY beyond their comfort Zone. The Challenge is a great format that doesn't draw donation $$ away from the Charity. So after just turning 80 in August, here we go again with building the 2025 team to smash our Goals.
Firstly, here is a Review our previous Participations as a team and explain Goal 2025.
2021 Team RCMC Raised $7,781 and Collectively Cycled 35,216 km's
2022 TEAM RCMC Raised $21,676 and Collectively Cycled 37,430 km's
2023 TEAM RCMC Raised $24,416 and Collectively Cycled 33,422 km's
2024 TEAM RCMC Raised $29,477 and Collectively Cycled 45,426 km's
.................................... Total $83,350,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 151,494 km's
Earth's circumference measured around the equator, is just 40,075 km, that is our Ride Target for 31 October Days and would bring up the 185,000 kms and at least $110,000 raised in five participations is well within reach.
We are aware right now, that cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week. We also ride in memory of our great departed Friends Darren Timms and John Smallwood (RIP) and are raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to enable them to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer. Thank you everyone who supports our challenge by donating.
