GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
We only start cycling in the afternoon so it wasn’t too hot. Kayne and Siska wanted to ride a long distance bike, but I wasn’t too keen…but I listened to the kids.
On our way back just when we got off the boardwalk Kayne got a flat tire. I called my friend and luckily her husband was at Bunnings and bought me a repair kit. My dad told me how to do this all, so no problem…only their pump was missing a piece so we couldn’t pump up the tyre. So Siska went on the back of my bike and Kayne on the minibike.
The last 2km Kayne gave the bike back to Siska and he ran home.
This ride is for my friend Helen and of course for my own papa ♥️♥️
We’re nearly at the end of October but you can still donate, even the whole month of November.
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Another ride done in the gym. But just a little 7.8km as I have fluid in one knee I take it a bit easier as it’s not getting any better even with ice on it. So yesterday I had an ultrasound and X-ray done and hopefully it will get fixed soon.
This is so annoying as I finally been able to pick up my exercise a bit and hopefully this would not stop me either. That’s why I had to ride a bit today and hopefully the kids will ride this weekend a lot of km again.
Today I was riding for my special friend Helen who is an amazing strong woman who is battling cancer. She has teaches me a lot when I was really sick with Pericarditis. This ride was for you ♥️
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Today I just took a very easy ride to get my muscles moving. After the whole weekend being active I felt I had to take it easier today.
Finally I can listen well to what my body needs and recover fully!
We have nearly reached our $2050 goal, but not there yet. If you like to sponsor us for this great cause please do so. ALL the money goes to Cancer Research!

GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Finally we cycled again after my back episode and yesterday we hiked the Honeyeater Walk what was great, but we definitely felt our legs more today.
Today we started around 9am and cycled all the way into town. The weather is definitely warming up, so we had a bit more water stops on our way. Siska had sore legs from yesterday but only told me that when we cycled uphill. But she didn’t have up and pushed through it.
We had a little snack break at the Marina where we met Mr Howard. He was on the cruise ship and told us that we did an amazing job to raise money for an so important cause. He also told us that he is involved in the kids cancer research in Newcastle, so it was close to his heart. He gave us a $10 donation and we took a photo and a big thank you to you Mr Howard.
On our way back we stopped at the Kids Health Expo…the kids ran in straight away and of course Kayne was playing with a ball and Siska was playing with the magnetic sand. It was a great setup from free books to garden worms (compost) to playing games for the kids to face paint and a roller skating disco demonstration and they talked about sport for young athletes and what is too much sport etc. It was very interesting for sure.
We left and cycled back home with a few tears from tiredness and pain legs. But we have made it and after a warm bath and a shower for me we are ready to relax the rest of the day…
Thank you everyone again for your donations and if you still like to donate this is still possible!
Lots of love from Kayne, Siska & Laura
