My friend Jay called me for a ride today, and I thought it would be a great way to rack up some more kilometers for the Great Cycle Challenge. Even though I wasn’t feeling up to it, I convinced myself to push through—after all, you always feel better after getting some time on the bike.
Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. I ended up with a flat tire and a shoe that blew out on me, which led to me having to call for a ride home. It’s tough when you try to do the right thing and your gear doesn’t cooperate. It looks like the whole “ride tubeless” idea wasn’t as foolproof as I had hoped!
There is always tomorrow!
I enjoyed a wonderful Spring evening on the MTB with Jay, marking his triumphant return to biking after a long break!
It’s a privilege to spin the pedals and raise awareness for the cancer plight that affects so many children. It’s even more special to gather support for the Fight Against Kids Cancer this October during The Great Cycle Challenge!
Cycling can truly be a magical remedy for both physical and mental challenges.
Thank you, Great Cycle Challenge, for creating this event to support kids with cancer and inspire hope for cures.
Recently, I've faced some health challenges, but there's one thing that keeps me motivated: The Great Cycle Challenge. The chance to combat childhood cancer while improving my own health is nothing short of inspiring. The effects of cancer hit close to home for me, especially when my mother bravely fought breast cancer. I truly believe that every ounce of research brings us closer to better health for everyone and helps shield those innocent kids from suffering.
I geared up and tackled a 100km ride, all while raising awareness in the battle against kids' cancer. No obstacle held me back, not even those pesky magpie attacks! Let’s keep pedaling forward!
